When installing Write-N-Cite on my computer running OS X 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”), I am asked to install Rosetta. Rosetta is a free tool from Apple, which provides compatibility between certain Mac applications, such as Write-N-Cite 2.5, and Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”) / Mac OS X 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”).
While Rosetta was pre-installed on Mac OS X 10.5, it is an optional install with Mac OS X 10.6. It is safe to install and you won’t even notice it, while using Write-N-Cite. Please note that if you are using OS X 10.7 (“Lion”) Write-N-Cite currently isn’t supported, as Apple stopped support for Rosetta in this particular version of its operating system.
